Features: Loop Lane, 'OO', 1980s/1990s

Published 24 September 2019, 10:51

Loop Lane is a 6ft x 1ft micro layout.

Built using Tim Horns baseboard system, the design depicts a small fictitious industrial area between the mid-1980s and 1990s. The gated lines lead into a wagon repair yard and scrap facilities.

The track layout uses Peco bullhead finescale track and points powered by DCC Concepts Cobalt digital point motors operated via an NCE Powercab controller. Buildings are made from a Scalescenes box file kit while many model railway scenic products complete the scene.

The layout is high in detail with items such as pallets and drums, and all manner of industrial junk left lying around on the railways of this period. Rolling stock consists of many ready-to-run locomotives and wagons that have been professionally weathered and detailed. Sound decoders have been fitted to give the whole layout a great atmosphere.
